"Café du Soleil"

Acrylic on canvas

40 x 60 cm

2020

This picture is almost the counterpart to "View from the Café du Soleil". Located on the ring road around the small town center of Villes-sur-Auzon in Provençe, the café is a popular meeting place for young and old alike. It is particularly popular with cyclists, as a beautiful bike ride begins or ends here through the 'Gorges de la Nesque' up to the Belvedere and possibly further to Monieux for lunch / coffee or even to Sault, the secret capital at 800m of lavender. Many a committed cyclist then goes further up to Mont Ventoux, the mystical Schiksalsberg of the Tour de France.

View from the Café du Soleil

Acrylic on canvas

50 x 50 cm

2020

After a nice bike ride, e.g. Coming back from Mont Ventoux or from the Georges de la Nesque, this wonderful 19 km long gorge, there is hardly anything better than to take a seat here in the Café du Soleil and to assign a cool, fresh press. Or a pastis. Or a glass of Grenache .....

The café is on the edge of the town center, where the D942 and D1 divide. The former leads through the perfect cycling canyon and the latter very steeply and extremely wide via the approximately 1,000 m high Col de l'Arbeille to Sault, the secret capital of lavender. It is rarely that quiet at this place. Normally you can see droves of racing cyclists and one or the other car passing by. There is always something to see here. Do we want to have a pastis here? À la votre !!!

"Rue du Couvent"

Acrylic on canvas

50 x 50 cm

2020

This picture shows a house in the middle of the Provençal village 'Villes-sur-Auzon' with its always beautiful green and the picturesque garden tables in front of it. An eye-catcher and source of joy again and again when we were there on vacation at the campsite. The house is right next to the Café du Soleil, almost opposite the church at the entrance to Rue du Couvent. It serves the cliché of Provence: color, light and joie de vivre. But it is also the reality there. And that's why I'm always drawn there .....

As Grit said recently when I showed her the picture for viewing via WhatsApp: "... you just want to indulge and enjoy a fine drop". As a painter, I can't expect more. What a wonderful compliment!

"Eiffel Tower from below"

Acrylic on canvas

30 x 40 cm

2019

This picture was taken at the request of a good friend and is now in her possession or her mother.
I liked to paint this picture, because I always like to be in Paris. The perspective is unusual but due to the perspective of the photo template. There was also a certain challenge in this: It was not so easy to paint the tower so that it did not tip over or appear curved in itself. I think the picture has also become good practice and pretty.

"Apple blossom over the rabbit hutch"

Oil on canvas

30 x 40 cm

1995

This wonderful Jakob Fischer apple tree was in our rented house in Lichtensteinstrasse in Backnang. Among them the rabbit hutch that I had built for the daughters. The watering can leaning against the tree shows that gardening has started. Spring is here, life is coming back everywhere. Plants and humans bloom equally.
